1. The coloured squares at the bottom (South Africa is the southernmost country in Africa) represent each state within South Africa, two of which include a significant symbol: the Zulu shield and the former flag of the Orange Free State. 2. The gold, silver, and light blue borders represent the rich platinum, gold, and diamond deposits within the nation. 3. The central region of the flag represents the unification of the ‘black, white, and coloured' people groups who reside within the nation. 4. The left side of the flag includes stickers representing the organisations responsible for the manufacture of the South African Rand. 5. The packing label is an emulation of the only clear example of a South African packing label I could find on Google. 6. The flag also includes the signature and torn British East India Company label.
